February 26, 1936  - Warner Oland and his wife, Edith, stopped for one day in Honolulu as they 
arrived aboard the Malolo at 9:00 a.m. on the first leg of their journey to China.  At 5:00 p.m.,
the Olands departed for Japan aboard the Taiyo Maru on the next leg of their journey to China.

"MRS. CHARLIE CHAN" ASKS SEPARATE MAINTENANCE
Charging that her husband, Warner Oland, better
known by movie fans as "Charlie Chan," drank
so excessively that he "disregarded his duties
as a husband."  Mrs. Oland, shown with the movie
 actor, in the above, sued at Santa Barbara,
Calif., for separate maintenance.  She demanded
half of their $275,000 community property, and
$3,500 a month for support.  They were married in
1908, and have no children.
