SYNOPSIS:

The Chan family is on a sea cruise, and all is well until a million-dollar painting is stolen from the wealthy Mrs. Van Norton.  Suspects abound as Charlie Chan and his Clan search the ship for the thief.

OF NOTE:

The wealthy art collector Mrs. Van Norton is possibly a vague reference to real-life industrialist, philanthropist, and art collector, Norton Simon.

The voice Mr. Benson the ventriloquist sounds very similar to that of famed ventriloquist Paul Winchell.

CHARLIE CHAN'S APHORISM:

They say that honey will catch more flies than vinegar.
